Osteopathy Care For You
At My Brimbank Osteo, we pay close attention to your individual requirements and accompany you throughout your recovery process.
Osteopaths believe in treating the body as a whole. We understand there is a link between the structure of the body and how it functions. Every patient requires a unique treatment approach, and we provide a range of treatment modalities to address this. Your osteopath will assess areas of your body that may be connected and contributing to your symptoms. For example, if you have a sore back, your osteopath may look at how this pain is connected to other areas of your body and may, therefore, also treat your feet, hips and pelvis. Dr Matt Dere and his team have been practicing osteopathy in the West for 16 years, and have developed a close relationship with our patients as a result.
Often the solution to your pain is easier than you think, and our plan is to give you the hands on approach and knowledge to stop the cycle of pain and prevent injury once you are better. We like to see you, but not too often. We want you fixed as quickly as possible within the parameters of your condition, so you can get on with your life.

How can Dr Matt Dere the Osteopath help you ?

Because each individual, condition, and injury is unique, osteopathic treatments and interventions will vary from person to person. My Brimbank Osteo combines hands-on treatment with exercise prescription, movement, and lifestyle advice. Hands-on treatments can include massage, dry needling, stretching, joint mobilisation and/or joint manipulation.
Dr Matthew Dere may also provide you with education and advice for managing your condition between appointments, in addition to providing you with exercises to do at home or at work. My Brimbank Osteo treats both chronic and acute conditions.
HEALTH FUNDS
We accept Work cover, TAC, DVA and NDIS patients. You may need a referral from your doctor so do not hesitate to call or email to find out. We have the equipment and knowledge to cater for your injury and there is usually no out of pocket expense.
ALL HEALTH FUNDS ACCEPTED
Osteopathy is usually covered under your private health insurance. You can claim your health fund rebate on the spot through HICAPS at our clinic, as long as you have extras cover. Health fund rebates vary, and often depend on your level of cover.
MEDICARE & EPC (Enhanced primary care plan)
Medicare does not typically cover osteopathic treatment. However, if you have a chronic condition for longer than 6 months, your GP can refer you for up to 5 osteopathic treatments. You can then receive a Medicare rebate on the spot. To get the rebate, you MUST have a GP-referred EPC form and your Medicare card on the day of your appointment.
